We are Jo and James, and we recently acquired the Queen Matilda after a long search to find the right opportunity to channel our love of great food, fine wine and generous hospitality. We look forward to welcoming you for a selection from our range of top quality beers and wines, a delicious meal from our new menu, or if you’d like to make a break of it with a stay in one of Matilda’s comfortable B&B rooms.

We’ve worked closely with our head chef Pete, sourcing the best local, fresh, seasonal ingredients to create a Modern British Menu that also takes inspiration from our travels, and we’ve updated some pub classics, with plenty of choice for those who prefer plant-based dining.
